Are you planning to visit Southeast Alaska?

Southeast Alaska is a great place to get away from it all and experience the grandure of nature and the small town community feeling of places like Petersburg, Tenakee Warm Springs, Baranoff, Angoon, and Wrangell.

We have a good relationship with a number of ecotour companies, and we can recommend their services for providing a topnotch Alaskan experience. If our recommendations lead you to use one of the companies we feature on this page, please let them know that you found them through AWF.

Viking Travel, Inc.
If you need to plan your visit to Southeast Alaska, these are the people to talk to. They know the region well because their business resides in the town of Petersburg. Besides being a full-service travel agency, their are tremendous benefactors to the Petersburg Marine Mammal Center (PMMC) and AWF. They provide office space to PMMC and help support its many activites. AWF and PMMC appreciate their tremendous friendship.

Petersburg Marine Mammal Center
For a great educational experience and local information on Marine Mammals, go to the Petersburg Marine Mammal Center (PMMC). This non-profit organization is a great supporter of AWF; they generously share their office space with AWF scientists when they are in town and frequently donate time and effort to help us maintain AWF's vessels. They members of PMMC are also trained to respond to stranding and disentanglement emergencies in their area. AWF is honored to be part of a network of skilled and knowledgable citizens dedicated to conserving marine mammals.

Lindblad has been a major supporter of AWF for many years. They provide an excellent high-end ecotourism experience for people of all ages and outdoor interests. You can count on seeing many wonderful sights and participating in a myriad of outdoor activities on their cruises. Their expedition leaders, naturalists, and captains are some of the best in the business and are counted among the close personal friends and supporters of AWF. On many of the summertime tours, AWF scientists come on board to speak with the passengers and tell them about the latest whale research.
