Members of Alaska Whale Foundation have been doing cetacean research in Alaska since the 1980s. Click on one of the areas below to find out about our ongoing research projects. All of these projects need funding to progress. You can help AWF continue its research in Southeast Alaska by supporting AWF.

Marine mammals are protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972. All of our research activities are conducted under permits issued by the Federal Government of the United States of America through the National Marine Fisheries Service's Office of Protected Resources.
